Spay-Neuter Information

Second Chance strives to humanely address pet overpopulation and serve our community members in many ways. Providing assistance for affordable spay/ neuters is central to that strategy. Here are three programs offered to help ensure pets and community cats are altered and not reproducing.

1. Low Income / Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinics

Our low cost clinics provide spay and neuter services to the pets of residents in our service region. We host regular clinics at our onsite medical clinic. Please contact the shelter at 970-626-2273 for more information and to make an appointment.

2. Spay / Neuter Vouchers

Vouchers for Ouray and San Miguel County residents provide a discount from the retail price at local participating veterinarian’s offices. If you are a Montrose County resident contact us for information on obtaining a voucher in that County.

Please read the program details listed on the Voucher carefully. Vouchers must be signed by a shelter staff member prior to making an appointment with a participating veterinarian.

Payment and a completed application must be received by the shelter before a spot can be reserved for the next clinic.

3. Looking for Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Assistance?
