Do you have space in your heart and home for animals but can't adopt a pet right now? Consider fostering for Second Chance Humane Society

Our Fostering Second Chances program lets animal lovers bring shelter pets into their homes on a temporary basis to prepare them for adoption.

As a foster parent you will receive full support from us. We know it can sometimes be a challenging experience – in the love you invest, the commitment it takes, and, eventually, in saying goodbye to a pet that you’ve nurtured for an extended period of time. But know that what you do matters. Every pet that’s fostered has a better chance at a happier and healthier life ahead with a forever family.

Here are some examples of situations in which foster care is needed:

  • Pets needing to be socialized to increase their chances of adoption
  • Pregnant or nursing mommas and litters of kittens and puppies
  • Senior pets that need extra care
  • Pets recovering from medical procedures
  • Kittens or puppies needing to be bottle fed
