Martha Gearty brings a diverse background to the Second Chance board. A Telluride resident since 1991, Martha has been a business owner since 1998. She started her career in medical technology, working in hospital labs for a decade before shifting focus to diagnostic testing in sales and management for medical companies. Martha holds an MBA (emphasizing marketing and non-profit organizations) from the University of St. Thomas.
Her volunteer experiences range from volunteer lab technician work for non-profit clinics, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and she sat on the board for a women’s clinic in Minnesota. Locally she was the program assistant for the Telluride Institute when she first arrived in Telluride and then became the founder and fundraiser for SPOT (Supporting Pets of Telluride) for over a decade.
