Our Vision

Loving Homes for All Pets.

Our Mission

Saving Animals & Promoting the Human-Animal Bond.

About Second Chance

  • Beginnings

Second Chance Humane Society has been working with the Ouray, San Miguel and Montrose County communities and beyond since 1994 to address the needs of homeless pets of this region. We save lives through our shelter programs while developing effective education and prevention programs.

  • Operations

We have made a difference in our communities while developing a solid and sustainable organization. Based at Angel Ridge Ranch, a 52 acre property just a mile north of Ridgway serves as the hub of our services and programs through an animal resource center where we rehabilitate, spay/neuter, re-home, and nurture hundreds of homeless pets a year. Our operations our partially funded through our thrift shops located in Telluride & Ridgway.

  • Next

Through further program development Second Chance is targeting any remaining gaps in the regional animal welfare system while promoting responsible pet parenting and the human-animal bond.

  • Gratitude

None of this would be possible without the generous support and interests of our surrounding community, visitors, and other animal welfare advocates. We hold the deepest gratitude for all that you do.
