Second Chance Humane Society has been working with the Ouray, San Miguel and Montrose County communities and beyond since 1994 to address the needs of homeless pets of this region. We save lives through our Shelter Programs & Services while developing effective Education and Prevention Programs.
We have made a difference in our communities while developing a solid and sustainable organization. Based at Angel Ridge Ranch, this 52 acre property just a mile north of Ridgway serves as the hub of our services and programs through an animal resource center where we rehabilitate, spay/neuter, re-home, and nurture hundreds of homeless pets a year. Additionally, our operations are significantly funded through our Thrift Shops located in Telluride & Ridgway.
Through continual program development Second Chance is targeting any remaining gaps in the regional animal welfare system while promoting responsible pet parenting and the human-animal bond. Take a look at the plethora of Community Outreach Programs we have developed, come visit our Memorial Gardens, or learn about our Equine Assisted Therapy collaboration.
None of this would be possible without the generous support and interests of our surrounding community, visitors, and other animal welfare advocates. We hold the deepest gratitude for all that you do.
