Spay-neuter information

Second Chance strives to help manage the homeless pet population and serve our communities in many ways. Providing assistance for spay and neuters is central to that strategy. Here are three programs offered to help ensure pets and community cats are altered not reproducing.

  1. Low Income / Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinics
  2. Spay / Neuter Vouchers
  3. TNR Voucher

1. Low Income / Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinics

Low cost clinics held quarterly providing spay and neuter services to the residents in our area. Clinics are held at the Second Chance Shelter and service 20-30 pets per clinic. Depending on income, cost can be as low as $20.00 per pet.

Payment and paperwork must be received by the shelter before a spot can be reserved for the next clinic.

2. Spay / Neuter Vouchers

Discount Vouchers for Ouray and San Miguel County residents. Provide a discount from the retail price at local participating veterinarian’s offices.
