Unlike animal shelters in many communities across the country that experience high euthanasia rates [insert tooltip with average euthanasia rates] and intense competition for resources, Second Chance and our community benefit from the organization being a single source for animal welfare needs.  The issue, however, is that as our community has grown, Second Chance's capacity (its ability to care for stray and homeless animals) has capped out.  Unless Second Chance can increase its capacity to care for animals, higher rates of euthanasia and fragmented services will come to our community, resulting in a higher per animal cost overall.

Do we want to include a description of expanded services?
