What started in June as a dream opportunity for Second Chance is, as of today, a new reality. On this day, Second Chance Humane Society finalized the purchase of Angel Ridge Ranch with the intent of using it responsibly as an animal shelter and for the benefit of our community. Not only does this day mark the most significant historical event in our organization's history since its founding, it also begins our countdown to moving to Angel Ridge and to making it a permanent home for Second Chance.

For years, Second Chance Humane Society has operated out of a house located on Sherman Street that was converted into a make-shift shelter. Resting in the back yard of the Galloping Goose, Second Chance worked diligently to not only be good neighbors, but to adopt best practices in the industry, and to serve our community as a valuable and needed resource. Now with the impending move to Angel Ridge only days away, Second Chance is positioned to continue to meet the needs of a growing community, and to provide new resources for its residents, be they pets or people.

As exciting as this moment is for Second Chance, we cannot forget the hard work and dedication of those that truly made this day possible. The purchase of Angel Ridge has been a tremendous undertaking for the staff and for volunteers, and it has been supported by an incredibly generous community without which Second Chance would have been unable to secure its new home.

For years, Second Chance has promised a new shelter. Today, Second Chance has made good on that promise. Today, Second Chance marks the beginning of its vision to become a true center of excellence that provides resources for pet owners, and ensures care and protection for our community's stray and homeless pets.
